At the end of school year, the students from 1st Grade, are gonna be able to:
English Language Arts (ELA)

Children will understand and talk about the main ideas and details in stories and informational books.

Children will use sounds and patterns to read new words and recognize sight words quickly.

Children will learn and use new words to express themselves in reading, writing, and speaking.

Children will write short stories and simple explanations using correct spelling and punctuation.
Mathematics

Children will understand numbers up to 100, compare them, and use addition and subtraction to solve simple problems.

Children will recognize and describe basic shapes and their attributes.

Children will measure using simple units (length, weight, time) and organize information in charts.

Children will solve everyday math problems using pictures, objects, and number sentences.
Español

Science

Students will be able to explore the major parts of plants and how they help the plants survive and grow. They will investigate how differing amounts of light affect plant growth. They will identify patterns in how plants can be similar to and different from their parents.

Students will explore the relationship between sound and vibration. Students will design a drum and use it to demonstrate the sound.

Students will explore patterns of motion of the sun, moon and stars. They will learn about NASA mathematicians and they will design and build a simple sundial.
Social Studies

Students will learn to be responsible digital citizens by balancing their use of technology, staying safe online, being kind and respectful, recognizing what is true, standing up for others, and making thoughtful choices about when and how to use technology.

Students will begin to explore and understand the world around them, recognizing ways they can care for the environment, use their talents to help their community, and make choices that contribute to a more sustainable and healthy world.

Students will explore and appreciate the rich traditions, practices, and artistic expressions of diverse cultures in their own community and around the world, recognizing how people from different backgrounds work together to shape and strengthen communities.

Students will begin to understand that neighborhoods and communities change over time, and that the experiences and achievements of people in history have shaped these changes locally and around the world. They will also practice using stories, pictures, and other sources to see how different people experienced the same events, helping them appreciate multiple perspectives from the past.

Students will explore how maps, globes, and digital tools help us understand the world. They will learn to identify landforms and symbols on maps, recognize how the physical environment affects people’s lives, and discover how communities use and change natural resources through everyday actions like planting, recycling, or building.

Students will learn that rules and laws are created by individuals and groups to help communities work well. They will begin to understand the difference between rights and responsibilities as citizens and explore simple ways people can work together to make their communities better.

They will explore examples of goods and services at home, school, and in the community, and learn that resources are limited.
Through simple activities, they will discover how supply and demand affect the choices families and communities make, and why people and countries trade with each other.

Ciencias de la Salud

Afianzar bases motrices: coordinación motriz fina, desplazamientos variados y contacto controlado con balones. Introducir fundamentos simples de diferentes deportes, cooperación y tolerancia a la frustración.

Reconocer alimentos saludables, porciones adecuadas, identificar señales de hambre, valorar el desayuno y lunch. Vincular movimiento, autocontrol y hábitos alimentarios para favorecer crecimiento integral.
Música

Ampliación del rango de uso de la voz de canto. Cantar con buena afinación, sólo o en grupo y con un sonido libre de tensión. Cantar de memoria un repertorio de canciones familiares.

Dominio de la escala de "Do" en la flauta dulce. Dominio de los compases de 4/4, 2/4, 3/4 y la notación básica.

Utilizar la música como un medio de expresión personal.
Atelier

Expresar y crear trabajos de arte a partir de la observación de nuestro entorno natural, plantas, paisajes, animales, entorno cultural, vida cotidiana y familiar. Expresar emociones e ideas en sus obras de arte a partir de la experimentación con diversos materiales.
STEM

Define basic physics concepts and relate them to natural phenomena.
Develop logic and mathematical skills by coding and programming, and the correct use of technology.
